As an accessory lover in this rainy, beautiful city, I spent years trapped between two extremes: expensive designer scrunchies too loose to hold a ponytail, and budget options with elastics so harsh they'd snag, pull, and break my hair. The "perfect hold"—secure all day, weightless on the scalp—simply didn't exist.

So I decided to engineer it.
